In Japan, government program Plan 75 encourages senior citizens to be voluntarily euthanized to remedy a super-aged society. An elderly woman whose means of survival are vanishing, a pragmatic Plan 75 salesman, and a young Filipino laborer face choices of life and death.


Special mention at the Camera d’Or prize at Cannes Film Festival, at the Un Certain Regard section, and presented at Toronto and Karlovy Vary film festivals.

Chie Hayakawa

Born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1976. Her short films include Identify This Girl (2000), What You Are Holding is not an Apple (2000), Vajra/Vajra (2001), Photography of Zero (2003), Niagara (2014), and May in the Winter (2016). Plan 75 is her feature debut.
