In May 2022, the Museum of the Portuguese Language was occupied. What happened during those days became the theme of this documentary. Homeland is the Place Where We Are Loved is an essay in words that united us, but can also separate us. A young man climbs a clock tower to tag the sentence in the title; the activist Ailton Krenak goes to Russia in order to find the remains of his language; a yanomami shaman goes to Sao Paulo to say how much he perceives Portuguese as a threat. These linguistic epiphanies are able to show us how a country and a language provide shelter to multiple voices.
