It is with great satisfaction that Petrobras participates in the 40th São Paulo International Film Festival, renewing a partnership that has lasted for 15 years.

This year, in addition to sponsoring the event, we have two feature films in the program of the Mostra: Desert, by Guilherme Weber, and Era o Hotel Cambridge, by Eliane Caffé. We also managed to reprise our partnership in the event`s closing session, at Ibirapuera, where will be screened the restored copy of the film The General, 1926, by Buster Keaton and Clyde Bruckman, accompanied by live performance of the new soundtrack of the film, in charge of the Heliópolis Orchestra, which has the support of Petrobras.

In addition to the Mostra, we annually sponsor a set of more than 20 film festivals in Brazil. We are linked to the strengthening of cinematographic activities in all lines - production, dissemination, training and memory -, those that mirror the performance areas of the Petrobras Cultural Program, which defines the scope and project selection model sponsored by the company.

We keep on believing in Brazilian cinema and focusing on the importance of festivals as a space to celebrating national and international production. We believe that Petrobras Cultural contributes to the expansion of opportunities for creation, distribution and enjoyment of cultural assets and the ongoing construction of the Brazilian cultural memory.
