Editorial CPFL

Since its conception in the early 2000s, the CPFL Energia’s cultural program, now under the responsibility of CPFL Institute, has emerged as a wide and democratic space for debate and reflection on the contemporary world.

The challenge of launching different looks on this world, from different perspectives, made cinema become a key element in our actions over this time.

Today, CPFL Institute is recognized as a reference by movie fans thanks to a series of thematic cycles conducted every month at Cine CPFL.

We are also responsible for taking to the countryside and to the coast region of São Paulo State some of the most iconic films of Brazilian cinema through partnerships with projects such as Cine Autorama and Cinesolar, part of CPFL Circuit of Art and Culture.

Therefore, it is with great satisfaction that in 2016 we resume the partnership with the São Paulo International Film Festival.

Such partnership reinforces our commitment to offer the public, with free admission, the possibility of checking some of the best features of contemporary filmmaking.

These are works that put us in touch with new languages, new landscapes, new possibilities and new universes. And help us to widen the sensitivity, the look and the understanding of the challenges in current reality: a reality that may be overcome by reinventing the look.
