It is with great pleasure that the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) is sponsoring the 40th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival, one of the leading events of its kind conducted in Latin America.

In the knowledge that the promotion of culture is critical for development in Brazil, BNDES for more than two decades has supported the audiovisual sector by plural and integrated actions. Fundings for the production and conclusion of feature films, for international co-productions and for the construction and digitalization process of movie theaters are initiatives that significantly contribute to structuring the production chain.

Also relevant are the numerous film festivals that the Bank has been sponsoring in all regions of Brazil, expanding the population access to the diversity of national and international film production.

Thus, by sponsoring the 40th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival, BNDES has the opportunity to reaffirm its belief in the changing character of culture and consolidate its position as one of its major supporters in Brazil.
