Toby, a cynical advertising director, gets involved in the illusions and delusions of a Spanish shoe-maker who believes to be Don Quixote. During their comic and surreal adventures, Toby is forced to confront the tragic consequences caused by a film that he made in his youth —a movie that changed, forever, the hopes and dreams of the inhabitants of a small village in Spain.
