Many people are fond of music, but few are like Siv, who is a prompter. She spends a good deal of her life in a wooden box built into the stage floor. In truth, Siv has never had much space of her own. She married Fred and moved to his house, a place where the habits of Fred’s ex-wife and children are the rule. To make matters worse, Fred?s ex-wife takes it upon herself to come back home... in a wheelchair. One day Siv is left out in the street, after the musicians have all left. She is left with a tuba that someone left behind that she can barely carry. Siv, however, also has her moments of glory, as in Verdi`s opera “Aida”, where a parallel can be drawn between the tragic fate of those on the stage and confined reality for poor Siv.

Norwegian director of short films and script writer. In 1997, she was part of the cast in the film Onkel Oskar by Evald Otterstad. She wrote and directed The Prompter, her first feature, indicated by Norway for the Oscar.
