Fang returns to her parents’ house in Nanjing to spend some time with them. During her stay, her elder brother’s family comes for a family reunion, she receives a Yengisar knife as a gift, and her sister-in-law tries to set her up on a blind date. Around her, time goes by and memories emerge during the conversations.

SONG FANG

Born in Jiangsu, China. She studied film directing in Belgium and received her master of arts in directing from the Beijing Film Academy. She acted in Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s Flight of the Red Balloon (31st Mostra). In 2006, she directed her graduation short film Goodbye (2009), which received the Second Prize of the Cinéfondation at the Cannes Festival. She co-directed, with six other filmmakers, the documentary Yulu (2010).
