Paco and his younger brother Luis lead their lives without direction, living with their parents in Portoviejo and engaging in drug use. Paco has a love affair with his old friend Lucía, who is married to another man, while Luis sings and plays guitar in a local punk band that grows in popularity. One day, out of desperation, Luis and Paco decide to steal a porcelain horse from their parents’ house in order to purchase more drugs. A fight ensues between the brothers and their father, with the consequences haunting Luis and Paco forever.

JAVIER ANDRADE

Born in Portoviejo, Ecuador, in 1978. He graduated with a degree in film direction from Columbia University. He has written and directed several music videos and short films. The Porcelain Horse is his first feature film. He also directed La Casa del Ritmo (2012), a documentary about the Venezuelan band Los Amigos Invisibles.
