Growing up in a small seaside neighborhood in the United Arab Emirates, a young Emirati couple, Mansour and Kaltham, struggles with tradition and convention in their journey towards adulthood. Bound by family and deeply-rooted values, the pair must find the courage to forge their own paths.

NAWAF AL-JANAHI

Born in 1977 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, he started acting at the age of seven. At the age of 19, he moved to California to study film. Back in his homeland, he directed the short films On a Road (2003), Souls (2004), Mirrors of Silence (2006), and the feature The Circle (2009), centered on a poet and journalist who discovers that he is imminently dying from a fatal disease. Sea Shadow is his second feature film.
