A man with his arm in a cast, who resembles Napoleon, and a well-dressed woman are making their way through a war-torn mountainous region in an SUV. The boot of the car contains plastic bags filled with money to distribute to the needy people they encounter on their journey. Are the two of them really on a charitable mission or is this a duplicitous game of temptation and morality?

MANI HAGHIGHI

Born in Tehran, Iran, in 1969. His debut feature film was Abadan (2003), followed by the comedy Men at Work (2006) and Canaan (2008). He also directed the documentary Hamoon Bazha (2007), about Dariush Mehrjui’s film Hamoon (1990, 22nd Mostra), and Modest Reception (2012, 36th Mostra).
