Solitary Hee-Jin lives on a lonely fishing island and ekes out a living selling food to the fishermen during the daytime and serving as a prostitute during the night - until the arrival on the island of ex-policeman Hyun-shik who has assassinated his wife who betrayed him, and her lover. Hee-Jin watches the stranger intently. He seems to have lost all interest in life. Hyun-shik is planning to kill himself using the same revolver with which he killed his wife. Hee-Jin is ever alert to all and rescues him from suicide. The episode brings the feelings sublimated by both, until then, to the surface. Hyun-shik`s anguish reaches intolerable levels and, hunted down by the police, he is compelled, again, to attempt suicide, and is again saved by Hee-jin. Sex is the only relief for the assassin`s physical and spiritual suffering. Obsession, however, seizes a hold in this strange relationship. Besieged by the fact the girl is in control and gives herself entirely to him, Hyun-shik realizes he cannot escape from this sick love. Each, a victim to the bait cast by the other, is drawn inexorably to an unexpected catastrophe.
