Animated film made as from real scenes, colored and manipulated artificially. With support from state-of-the-art technology, known as ""interpolated rotoscoping"", the film is a blend of natural from real actors and stylized visual from cartoons. Free, non-linear narrative in Waking Life, is about a boy (“played” by Wiley Wiggins) who has recently arrived to Austin, Texas and sets forth on a voyage of self-knowledge together with a stranger. Along the way, they meet up with a dozen strangers with whom they exchange ideas on art, philosophy, society, and other contemporary issues. In this cartoon existential road-movie, it is never clear whether the characters are living a dream or the reality of the 21st century. Wiggins has renowned actors for company, such as Ethan Hawke and Julie Delphy.
