Awarded the Critics Prize at the 6th Mostra, the film is set in the suburbs of Saravejo in Yugoslavia, in the sixties, under the communist government of Marshall Tito. The script focuses on day-to-day life for Dino, a youngster of 16, taking his first steps on the road to delinquency. He was raised in a family that is politically engaged, where talks and teaching on communism given by his father, a tyrant, were the order of the day. Dino finds the liberty he has dreamed of and fulfillment of his desires only in a marginal existence in the streets. The feature was awarded the Golden Lion for new directors in Venice.
