Filmed in only two weeks in the surroundings of Galle Fort in Sri Lanka, the film tells the true story of a girl who decided to act like a man. Resentful of the privileges men have in contemporary society, she begins to behave and to dress as though she belonged to the male sex. In the measure in which her dreams begin to crumble, her life is on the way to tragedy. The director had trouble with the censorship in Sri Lanka with demands for cuts in the film.

ASOKA HANDAGAMA

Born in 1962, in Sri Lanka, she majored in mathematics at Kelaniya University and in economy at the University of Warwick, in England. She began acting in the theater and on television in 1985. In 1994, she directed her first film for TV, Dunhidda Addara. Her first film for cinema was Chandra Kinnarie (1994), followed by Moon Hunt (1996), and This is My Moon (2000).
