Dolores, a beautiful dancer from Cuba, decides to put an end to a disastrous marriage and open a restaurant in partnership with her aunt who lives in Brazil. Instead of sending the money agreed on to start up the business, the aunt sends her a pair of dancing shoes. Dolores has no money of her own and sells the present for a few coins. She then discovers that the money was hidden inside the heels. She embarks on a frantic search through the streets of Havana, where she meets amusing, curious people that help her to make her dream come true. The film was awarded the Prize from the Public at the Miami Festival of Brazilian Cinema.
