Perhan is a gipsy who lives with his grandmother on the outskirts of Saravejo. He is in love with Azra, and his dream is to earn enough money to be able to marry her. Vagrant Ahmed proposes to Perhan that they should go to Italy in an attempt to make a fortune quickly. The boy accepts the suggestion and, before he is aware of it, is a prisoner in a world without scruples, of resentment, of which he wants no part. Perhan is compelled to realize that the European dream is still inaccessible to gipsies, doomed to suffer and to wander. Time of the Gypsies is made in the manner of a baroque poem where the most cruel reality confronts an almost surrealistic lyrism. The series in five episodes will be shown for the first time in Brazil.
