A documentary on one of the most amazing, unforgettable characters from the New York underground in the sixties. Brigid Polk was born into a wealthy, conservative family in Manhattan. Her father was a top executive with the Hearst Corporation. Her mother was a typical american bourgeois who would never come to terms with her daughter’s personality and obesity. What they never expected was that the girl would rebel and adhere to Andy Warhol’s Factory producers under the name Brigid Berlin. She became famous for her polaroid photographs while with this anarchy group and she acted in famous pop films by Warhol such as Bike Boy, Imitation of Christ, and The Chelsea Girls. Brigid also became famous on an alternative scene with pocket shows she acted in and with the paintings she made using her breasts. The film also shows the return of Brigid, today aged 60, to the legendary Chelsea Hotel, in addition to people who spent time with her such as John Waters and Patricia Hearst. “Pie in the sky" is a common english expression that means a “wishful thinking” or “promise”. In the movie, it refers too to a sweet shop that sell pies.
