Edmundo is a blind old man returning to São Paulo after forty years. He is taken by his friend Zé Carlos on a guided tour of the city. The two of them travel the streets in an old Dodge car searching for spots they were familiar with in the past. In each site visited, little is left of those happy years. However, their insistence in endeavoring to find some reference to old times is determining to both of them. Thus, blind Edmundo and his friend and cicerone Zé Carlos engage in conversation with real urban characters such as the owners of the bars, child petty thieves, transvestites, and prostitutes. In the reports, however, there is little left of São Paulo as it was 40 years ago, and there is a wealth of information about what the metropolis is today. The strategy of interaction between fictional and real characters positions Urbania on the bounds between a documentary and fiction.
