An astounding and important crusade on the part of one man to apply the brakes on the lethal progress of global warming, casting light on mistakes pertaining to this issue. This man is the U.S. Vice-President, Al Gore who, following his defeat in the 2000 elections, went back to a fight to deliver this planet from catastrophic fate. An Inconvenient Truth includes persuasive arguments by Al Gore, who explains that the issue of global warming can no longer be treated as a political problem, but must, rather, be the greatest global issue to be faced this century. To exemplify his theory, the documentary shows scenes from an episode from the animated series Futurama ("Crimes of the Hot", from 2002, in which Gore is one of the characters, with a script written by his daughter Kristen), in addition to a huge production The Day After Tomorrow (2004), by Roland Emmerich. The film also refers to recent catastrophes, such as the tsunami in Indonesia and the Katrina in New Orleans. The soundtrack is by guitarist Michael Brook and the theme song is "I Need to Wake Up" by singer Melissa Etheridge.
