Condemned in Iran for loving another woman, Fariba seeks refuge in Germany. Her request for asylum, however, is denied. She finds an apparent answer to her problem with the suicide of her husband. With no other alternative, she assumes his identity, passing for a man and using his visa to remain in the country - which, at least, temporarily, will assure her survival. She is interested in obtaining false documents and takes on a job illegally in a factory. There, she meets Anne, who appears concerned and interested in the stranger of foreign, mysterious ways. In time and at closer range, Anne becomes suspicious of Fariba?s real identity.

ANGELINA MACCARONE

Born in Koln, in Germany, in 1965. She studied German, American literature, and cinema at the University of Hamburg. She directed her first film in 1994, a comedy, Kommt Mausi raus? In 1997, she directed Everything Will Be Fine, a prize-winning film at the Hamburg festival. In 1998, she made An Angel`s Revenge.
