Quiet Vincent spends the entire week on the road, traveling on business, taking part in meetings. At least it would seem so. In truth, the executive was dismissed some weeks ago from the consulting company where he worked for years on end. Every evening, however, Vincent puts on a brave show to keep up appearances as a collar-and-tie worker tired out after yet another day’ work. To his wife and children, he merely hints at vague information. He feels he is under so much pressure that he eventually makes up a prestigious new occupation in Geneva. Lying is now his main activity. To further deepen the hole he is digging for himself day after day, he begins to pull a fast one with friends, drawing them to dubious investments. And to think that all the unhappy Vincent ever wanted during all of his lifetime was a break from the stifling routine of an office...
