The film, now 10 years since it was first shown, focuses on the loneliness of immigrants. The film tells the story of Paco and his Spanish mother who wish to visit the land of their forebears. With no money after the confiscation under the Fernando Collor government, Paco agrees to deliver a mysterious package - on request of the equally mysterious Igor, in Portugal, in exchange for his fares. Paco loses the package and meets a Brazilian, Alex, working as a waitress in Portugal, and living with Miguel a smuggler-musician, addicted to heroin. Paco flees to Spain pursued by robbers with an interest in the package containing a violin with hidden diamonds.
