Abdullah, known as Ap, is from a Moroccan family of immigrants who live in Holland. At the age of 20, the young man dreams of having the leading part in one of the many Hollywood films made after September 11th , but he has no idea of what to do with his life. The only thing he knows is that he doesn‚Äôt want to follow his brother’ steps, who is a policeman and the embodiment of everything Ap hates in the dutch society. Ap’ latest professional adventure was a job in an office that ended up badly. After that, he decides to join a group of friends who are planning to rob a bank. The robbery doesn‚Äôt go as planned and Ap is almost caught by the police. Maybe the only way out is to follow the family’ traditions, so Ap promises his father to marry a Moroccan girl. He travels to Morocco to find a fiancé and, for the first time, he seems to be on the right way to a promising and safe future. But everything goes wrong again.
