Juliette is 15 years-old and the daughter of a prominent Québec Superior Court judge. Raised in a prosperous environment, she was educated at the best schools. The media spotlight focuses on her father when he’s invited to preside over one of the most important court cases in the last ten years: that of Réal Lamontagne, a notorious gang leader. Romeo, 17 years old, also has a famous family: he is Réal Lamontagne’s son. His father is accused of committing hideous crimes, including causing the death of a child. However, Juliette cannot help but be attracted by Romeo’s charming magnetism. Even though they come from diametrically opposed worlds, the two teenagers fall in love. Will the numerous obstacles in front of them prevent them from living their fairy tale romance? Romeo & Juliette transcends time, is a contemporary tale of love in modern society where everything has almost become impossible. It is the story of first love in its purest state; a love which eventually is destroyed by hate and rivalry.

YVES DESGAGNÉS

He graduated from the École Nationale de Theater du Canada in 1978 with a diploma in Acting. He began his career as a theatrical director in 1981 and since then has been involved in almost 50 productions: one of them, he brought life to the universe of Shakespeare in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He began his cinematic career in 1983 with an appearance in Pourquoi I’Étrange Monsieur Zolock s’intéressait-il tant à la Bande Dessinée, by Yves Simoneau. He also acted in Blind Trust (1986), again with Simoneau, and in The Barbarian Invasion (27th Mostra), by Denys Arcand. In 2005, Desgagnés directed his first film, Shooting Star.
