The life of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire - 1757 until 1806. An extraordinary woman whose intelligence was her main weapon to deceive the rigid English society at the end of the 18th century. She was married to the extremely wealthy Duke of Devonshire whose only interest in life was to produce an heir. Georgiana broke with every convention, she gave herself to extramarital passions, and joined the Liberal Party at a time when women had no right to vote. The British society was marked by her history to the extent that the Princess Diana is regarded as one of her direct descendants.

SAUL DIBB

Saul Dibb made his feature film debut in 2004 with Bullet Boy. His previous work included a number of documentaries including, Easy Money, about a porn actress. In 1997 he served as cinematographer on Jon Ronson’s documentary Tottenham Ayatollah, about a Muslim fundamentalist’s attempt to turn Britain into an Islamic state. In 2006 he directed the acclaimed TV series The Line of Beauty, adapted by Andrew Davies from the Booker prize winning Alan Hollinghurst novel.
