The return of people from Maghreb living in Europe to their lands of origin, during the summer holidays, and the study of the different points of view and meanings of theses "homecomings": an exodus to the opposite direction, an upside down trip, in comparison with the desperate route that thousands of refugees make each year from the African coasts tour lands.

GIOVANNA TAVIANI

An essayist and scholar in cinema and literature, she collaborates with the magazine Allegoria since 1997. In 2007, she created the Documentary Festival SalinaDocFest in the Aeolian Islands, Sicily, a partner of Mostra. Started writing and directing historical-educational documentaries in 1998 and debuted as a filmmaker in 2004 with the documentary I Nostri 30 Anni: Generazioni A Confronto (2004, 30th Mostra). Also directed the mid-lengh documentary Homecoming (2006, 31st Mostra).
