A passenger bus that covers the distance between Athens and Thessaloniki as a routine is hijacked by a man who then holds seven passengers for ransom. In his left hand is a hand grenade with which he threatens to explode the vehicle should his demands not be met. He is an Albanian immigrant of 25, Elion Seni by name, and he is demanding a ransom of one million euro and safe conduct to his home land. For the next 20 hours, what follows is a wild chase involving police cars, TV teams, desperate relatives, and a host of on-lookers - a great convoy of uncertain future, but sure direction: the Albanian frontier.
