Jackie is an operator of security camera circuits on the outskirts of Glasgow. With each new day, she focuses her attention on this small part of the world, to protect those whom she watches over. One day, a man named Clyde appears on her monitor, a man she thought she would never see again, a man she never wanted to see again. Now, however, she has no choice and is compelled to confront him. From mere passive observer, not only of other people?s lives, but of her own that was almost totally destroyed after losing husband and daughter, Jackie becomes the real character in a story she was following at a distance. Danish filmmaker Lone Scherfig, of Italian for Beginners (selection for the 25th Mostra) and Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself, together with Anders Thomas Jensen, assisted in defining the characters psychologically.
