On arriving at a top secret meeting at the CIA in Arlington, Virginia, analyst Osborne Cox is met with bad news: he has been dismissed. Back in his house in Georgetown, he decides to devote himself to a book of memoirs and to drink, but not necessarily in this order. His wife Katie is in a state of consternation, but not overmuch for, after all, she is having an affair with Harry Pfarrer, a married federal investigator and is planning to leave Cox. In the suburb in Washington D.C., Linda Litzke, an assistant in an academy can barely work thinking of plastic surgery and does not realize that Ted Treffon the gym manager is crazy about her. When a CD containing information for Cox`s book accidentally falls into the hands of Linda and her colleague, Chad Feldheimer, the two of them decide to take advantage of the situation. However, things get out of control and lead to a series of encounters that are amusing, in a shadowy way.
