After 11 short films, Valerio Zurlini directs his first feature: The Girls of San Frediano, also his first masterpiece. The film is based on the wiles used by Bob, a laborer and would-be Don Juan, in his games of seduction. The sharp power of perception of the Italian director transforms this obscure example of neo-realistic cinema into a psychological study on human vanity. The film is based on a novel by Vasco Pratolini and, as cast, includes Antonio Cifariello, Giovanna Ralli, Rossana Podestá and Corinne Calcet.
