Horror and science fiction get mixed with humor in this homage to zombie movies. A hospital gets crowded by infected people, who were exposed to a secret chemical substance from the military and are being transformed into monsters. Cherry Darling, a nightclub dancer who lost one of her legs in an attack at the road, is one of the victims being treated by the physicist couple William and Dakota Block. They are treating citizens with their bodies covered in wounds and a suspect vague look in their eyes. As the invalids become furious and aggressive, Cherry and his boyfriend Wray lead night over a team of resistant warriors. The heroine has now a gun machine in place of the lost leg. The feature is part of a project called Grindhouse, which includes the feature Death Proof,

by Quentin Tarantino, who has a cameo here, also selected

by the 31st Mostra.
