Paul Is Dead

In 1980, in some place in Germany, summer holidays have but begun. The days are longer and Tobias, a boy of 12, dreams of having his own rock band. Together with his brother Till, he would like to form a group very similar to the Beatles, of whom he is a fan, indisputably, almost obsessively so. All seems at peace in the German summer sun, until the day a mysterious man appears in town driving a white Volkswagen beetle. Tobias takes one look at the number plate and is sure he has seen it before. He runs home and goes through his records. His suspicions are confirmed. The number plate is the same as the beetle car on the cover of the Beatles? Abbey Road record. He cannot rely on Till for any help for Till is wholly taken up with first encounters with a girlfriend. Urged by instinct as a detective, Tobias discovers a strange theory: Paul McCartney would apparently have died under mysterious circumstances in 1966 and been replaced by a double. The replacement would have perpetrated by Brian Epstein, agent of the group. To Tobias, it all fitted together. He is soon to face Paul McCartney?s assassin.
