Duas crianças, Alexander e Voula, fogem de casa e partem para a Alemanha em busca do pai que nunca viram. A trajetória dos meninos é comovente. Suas decepções e esperanças não evitam o avanço rumo ao desconhecido. Rumo a um mundo dividido entre o bem e o mal, verdades e mentiras, amor e morte, silêncio e palavras. Uma verdadeira viagem de iniciação, "Paisagem na Neblina" venceu o Prêmio da Crítica da 15ª Mostra. O diretor Theo Angelopoulos participou da Mostra com os longas "Viagem a Citera" (8ª Mostra), "O Passo Suspenso da Cegonha" (também apresentado na 15ª Mostra), "Um Olhar a Cada Dia" (19ª Mostra), além de ser homenageado com uma retrospectiva completa na 20ª Mostra.

THEO ANGELOPOULOS

Born in Athens, Greece in 1936. Back in Athens, he worked as a film critic. In Brazil, he became known with Voyage to Cythera (1984), presented at the 8th Mostra. His most well-known films are Landscape in the Mist (1988, 15th Mostra), The Suspended Step of the Stork (1991, 15th Mostra), Ulysses’ Gaze (1995, 19th Mostra) and Eternity and a Day (1998, 22nd Mostra), winner of the Golden Palm at Cannes. In 1996, the 20th Mostra made a retrospective including his first films. He also directed The Weeping Meadow (2004) and The Dust of Time (2009) presented at the 33rd Mostra, where in addition to a new retrospective of his work, he was awarded the Humanity Prize. He died in 2012 at the age of 76.
