On Christmas Eve, a man is interrogated by the police, under accusation of murder. The spectators know practically nothing about him, nor do they understand why he is being interrogated. As the suspect refuses to answer any type of question, the assistant inspector brings him a type-writer, an Olivetti 82 model. The tactics are successful. Little by little, in flashbacks, the man tells us the story of his life: a ceaseless quest for love and self-confidence. More and more, we become aware of the mistakes and discernment of a common man and, step by step, we learn of his tragic past. Based on the novel Olivetti 82, by Eriek Verpale, the film is by the producers of Antonia’ Line.

RUDI VAN DEN BOSSCHE

Born in 1957. He worked for 14 years for Belgian National Television as assistant director and executive-producer in dramatic series and documentaries. In 1994, together with colleague Rein Boumans, he founded Antares producers. Bossche is also a prolific script writer. Olivetti 82, with a script co-authored with Ilse Somers, is his first film as director.
