March, 2002. John R. has made several people hostage in the Rembrandt Tower, in Amsterdam. Six months after the terrorist attacks of September 11, in New York, the police and authorities are in panic. The kidnapper is protesting against widescreen TV saying that the images conceal hidden codes. He demands to talk to Gerard Kleisterlee, the President of Phillips. He wishes to tell the world that a widescreen TV is a superfluous object. At the end of the day, the case winds on to a tragic ending with no one able to understand John?s real motivation. He is regarded as just one more madman. Based on a real case.
