When he is informed of his brother?s suicide, Thomas returns to his hometown to identify Richard?s body. Before he goes to his brother?s funeral, he feels the need for some peace and quiet -the need to spend a few days away from the family. Time has made him forget his childhood experiences, and he has broken away from the affectivity inherent to these experiences. Thomas makes his way to a hotel. Jeanne, Richard?s former girlfriend, and Lucas, a teenaged orphan who lives with her, are staying at the hotel and Thomas must co-habit with these two who had spent many a good time with Richard and who were there, expecting him to return.
