During World War II, in a hospital in Italy, Canadian nurse, Hana, cares for an unknown air pilot who has lost his memory and is disfigured by burns suffered in an accident. In the course of treatment, the man begins to reconstruct his story through his memories. He is Count Laszlo Almasy, an explorer, who, in his journeyings, meets Katherine, the wife of a friend from his team of explorers. They fall in love and their romance is fraught with obstacles.

ANTHONY MINGHELLA

Born in England, in 1954. After he graduated from the University of Hull, he began a career as script writer. In the eighties, he worked for TV, writing and editing series such as Grange Hill and The Storyteller. His first film in 1991, Tryly, Madly, Deeply was made in 1991. In 1996, he won an Oscar for best director for his film The English Patient.
