The Child and the Soldier

The last day of the year. While all of the country commemorates and makes plans for the future, a young soldier has a task to accomplish. He is to take a young delinquent from the station of Sarakhs, in the province of Khosaran, to a reformatory in the capital, Teheran. This is a long journey that, together with certain peculiar characteristics (such as the day on which this is happening and the motive for the journey), may make the journey even longer. What type of relationship will the two of them establish? Will a relationship of submission that the prisoner has in relation to the one who is holding him prisoner prevail? Or will some kind of solidarity still be possible? The Child and the Soldier will prove that there is a superior human relationship, above the relationship between authority and prisoner, that makes all men equal.
