Sophie, Céline, and Anne are sisters. Sophie, the oldest, lives with her husband in Paris. Anne, the youngest, is a student of architecture and is embroiled in a passionate relationship with her professor, Fréderic. Céline, who is single, cares for her invalid mother, when a mysterious man appears in her life. An incident that occurred for all three in childhood will bring them together to talk about the past. Inspired in the second part of Dante?s Hell, the plot is part of a trilogy planned by script writer Krzystof Piesiewicz and film maker Krzysztof Kieslowski, that was not made because the director died in 1996. Heaven (26th Mostra), the first script of this trilogy, was filmed by german Tom Tykwer, in 2001.
