The elderly Perpétua, feeling the approach of death, decides to prepare Zeca, her beloved grandson, to the inevitable. She tells him the story of a king and a queen, a wealthy and powerful couple who lost their only child but wishes to bring him back to life. Meanwhile, Damião e Josefa work hard to support their family and to prepare their daughter Fátima’s wedding. At the end, the tale told by Perpétua and the destiny of that family will cross.

PETRUS CARIRY

Born in Fortaleza, Brazil, in 1977. He graduated in informatics from the Faculdade Integrada do Ceará. He produced and edited, among others, Juazeiro, a Nova Jerusalém (2001), Patativa do Assaré - Ave Poesia (2009) and Cine Tapuia (2006), feature films by Rosemberg Cariry, his father. He directed some short movies such as Dos Restos e das Solidões (2006), When the Wind Blows (2008, 32 nd Mostra), A Montanha Mágica (2009) and O Som do Tempo (2010). In 2007, he made his debut in feature film direction with The Grain, exhibited at the 31 st Mostra. Cariry also signed the direction of Mãe e Filha (2011) and Clarisse or Something about Us (2015).
