A piercing drama about a common man who resorts to his own means in quest of justice. Ivan Fédorovic, a retired railroadman and former top-ranking marksman of the legendary Vorochilov regiment, is forced to look on, helpless, while his granddaughter, a minor, is raped at the hands of three wealthy young bloods. The girl?s mother, it would seem, is concerned only with striking up an acquaintanceship with men and travelling abroad. The local authorities are in no way committed to elucidating the case, in which the son of a high-ranking police officer would seem to be involved. Under the circumstances, the old gentleman procures for himself a precision rifle on the black market and decides to take justice into his own hands.

STANISLAV GOVORUCHIN

Stanislav Rorovuchin is from Berezniki, in Russia. He grew up in Kazan where he studied geology until 1958, before graduating as director of the Moscow School for Cinema. He worked as geologist, journalist, actor, and film director. As an actor, he was part of films by Kira Muratova, Georgij Danelja, and Sergej Solovëv, among others. He directed documentaries, films for television and wrote scripts. Now 64, he is a member of the Russian parliament. In 1996, he became President of the Parliamentary Commission for Culture.
