A documentary that follows along with the interchange between two base groups and their struggle for economic justice and global democratic values. One of these groups consists of leaders from the Rio de Janeiro favela shanty towns. The other is an NGO from the fringes of New York City. Their first encounter at the World Social Forum, in Porto Alegre, develops into an intense exchange of experiences.

Fernando Salis Majored in communication, is a film maker and professor of documentary film making, audiovisual production, and directing by the School of Communication of the Rio de Janeiro Federal University. Outstanding among his films are the Rizoma TV series and a documentary A Voz da Ponta - A Favela Vai ao Fórum Social Mundial, both presented in several events in Brazil and abroad. Felipe Ribeiro With a Master\`s degree in cinema by New York University, he is a film maker and profesor of documentary at the Estácio de Sá University. In Brazil, he directed documentaries - Santa Clara and China, Amarela, Gilberto e Dadá - on the Brazilian Landless movement - in addition to videoclips and educational videos for Futura TV.
