If you feel that a post office branch is no more than a site for bureaucratic rules and regulations to ensure effective public services, you have never thought in terms of Cuba and moreover, the post office branch where Carla Perez is employed. Young and a dreamer, this government employee in communication and relationships is able to transform boredom into a “crossroads of feeling in writing”. More than merely sending and receiving letters, she aims to help her companions to find happiness and, who knows, love, even if in words poorly expressed. Such good will can not go unrewarded: she wins the yearly lottery for U.S. immigration and is sent a “green card”. Now she will have to opt between a future of her own and a future for others.
