Young Olivia, age 16, is a problem child. It is not surprising that she should have come from a family in permanent crisis. Salvatore, her father, is a violent, vulgar man who is aggressive to both Olivia and to his wife, Franca. The girl feels completely neglected and reacts like an animal in permanent flight hating school, people, and all about her. Things go from bad to worse, until she meets Lilly, 13 years old, with a personality that is diametrically opposed to her own. Lilly believes in fairy tales and is a fan of Olivia Newton John, a singer that is the subject of the weekly competitions organized by Lilly among her friends. Soon they are to become intimate and solidary. Lilly will try and save Olivia from her sad fate, and Olivia is to feel that, finally, she is loved by someone - a profound relief for the deep wounds in her shattered emotions.
