Getting My Brother Laid

The affective life of brothers Nic, Josch, and Mike are closely linked. Young Nic, age 14, desperately tries for a first experience with sexual intercourse; however, quite obviously, it is not to be with just anyone. Josch is 30, but has the mental age of a child. He also intends to lose his virginity, but his target is rather more hard to get: his brother Mike’s girlfriend, beautiful Nadine, that he has chosen as a present for his own birthday soon to be. Now Mike, also has an objective to attain: to safeguard his beloved from the crazy assaults on the part of avid Josch. Meanwhile, Nic has found someone who will solve his problem: Manu, the leader of the gang most feared in school, only she wishes to film all of the action with her ever-present camera. Nadine, meanwhile, decides to give Josch the present he so yearns for. When the fact is almost consummated, Mike appears at the last minute to spoil the party. In the hours to follow, the fate of the three brothers is to cross, in a web of unexpected consequence.

Sven Taddicken was born in 1974 in Hamburg. He has been studying Direction at the Baden-Wuerttemburg Film Academy since 1996 and has won numerous international awards including the National Short Film Prize at Dresden 1999, the Main Prize at the Finnish festival Lappeenraanta, and the First Prize at Short Cuts Cologne 1999. He was also nominated for the Honorary Foreign Student Award/Student OSCAR 2000 for his film Schaefchen Zaehlen, which also opened the Max Ophuels Festival Saarbruecken that same year. In 2000, he was awarded the renowned Caligari stipend from the Baden-Wuerttemburg Film Academy. His other films include the shorts: Whodunit?! and Fisch (1997), as well as El Cordobes and Ice Cream (1998), and Getting My Brother Laid (Mein Bruder der Vampir), his feature debut.
