Maria Alvarez is a 17 year old girl, who lives on the suburbs of Bogotá, where she works in a dangerous and bad-paid job, cutting the thorny branches of a rose plantation. Prisoner of the same fate of her family’s last three generations, she wants to change her life. But she can’t quit the job, because she and her family depend on the money she earns. One day, she meets Franklin, a young man who makes her a tempting offer: to earn a good money and travel. Actually, the girl would have to travel to the USA, carrying heroin inside cartridges that she’d have to swallow. A trip that promised to be easy, puts her life at stake, demanding all the strength and smartness from the young girl, who is ready to do anything to transcend the bounds of her destiny.
