Seven stories of love, death and sex that weave magic into reality, irony and sarcasm into black humour, as they reveal the secrets and emotions of a handful of everyday people whose lives intersect in the city of Barcelona. In this urban microcosm we witness the tragic story of Jan, illustrator of children’s books, and his 7-year-old daughter, Nora; the frenetic life of Claudia, the Colombian cleaning lady and single mother, and her obsession with the dead; the successful lawyers, Ernest and Julia, who are not entirely what they seem; the strange Rayuela (Hopscotch) bookshop and its salesgirl Pili, the protagonist of an impossible love; the oddball security guard, Gasull, who is still dependent on his mother and bent on killing Death; the sad and sorry public servant, Dalmau, who must die in order to discover whether he is loved; or a story of two young people who indeed love one another to their dying day. Seven games of love, death and sex. Players jumping through the squares of a hopscotch game: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... And on to heaven (or hell).
