The main character in this film is Kristin who, as in the case of the rest of his friends on the verge of delinquency, accumulates a series of problems in life ranging from serious differences with his parents to uncertainty as to what is to become of his turbulent existence. Made in Iceland, the action takes place in the space of 48 hours, sufficient time for Kristin and his rowdy gang to consume liters of liquor, to get as drugged as they please, and to engage in a great deal of sex, at times against their will. The feeling of emptiness grows at each plane together with the certainty that the future will not be much better than the senseless routine they are obliged to traverse day after day. The setting is one of the best-known outskirts of town in Reykjavik, the town where young director Mikael Torfason was born and bred. On the threshold between fiction and a documentary, the film is partly autobiographical, portraying his adolescence as that of the boys from the suburbs in the film. “I decided to carry through with this project because, in Iceland, there has never been any production on teenagers made with teenagers. All we have ever had was stupid lies from Hollywood”, says the director.
