In a region devastated, in what was once Yugoslavia, Zana, age 25, and Janko, age 40, are set free the same day - she, by a psychiatrist and he, from prison. Freedom for them has nothing to do with a cure or with serving a sentence. The spaces they occupied have, simply, been sold to act as a hideout for politicians wanted by international courts for their war crimes. Zano and Janko are misfits in life, the sort of people who will never adapt in society. In time, they discover they have known each other since childhood. Brought closer, they fall in love. Only then is Zana to discover the truth about Janko.

SERGEJ STANOJKOVSKI

He began his career as photographer and studied directing and documentaries for five years in Prague, Czech Republic. His first film was a short film, Shot, in 1993. He made documentaries such as Darko, Life is a Concert, and Macedonia Jazz. Kontakt is his first feature.
